Frequently asked questions
How to choose the Belt class?
Rubber conveyor belts (see Manubloc conveyors) with a smooth surface can be used for upward conveying of bulk goods at an angle of inclination of up to approx. 22°. The angle of inclination depends on the friction between the conveyed material and the Belt.
By using a Belt with chevrons or cleats, or with a rough surface, the angle of inclination can be increased considerably.
Belts with chevrons or cleats are used to convey bulk goods with grain sizes from 0 to 150 mm, as well as sacks.
A number of factors need to be taken into account when selecting the Belt type:
- the operating voltage calculated on the installed power, which determines the number of plies (textile or steel fabric)
- Top and bottom cover thicknesses, which are independent of the field of application and the granulometry conveyed (the greater the granulometry and angularity of the parts conveyed, the greater the cover thickness).
- Belt type, which depends on the material being conveyed (rubber, polyurethane, PVC, etc.)
- Belt quality and chevrons or cleats are selected on the basis of individual belt programs 1 to 8 + 12
- Commodity: if for a sawmill (transport of wood chips, bark and cellulose) = must be terpene-resistant; if for abrasive material = must be multi-ply abrasion-resistant;
Coating
Thanks to its extra-resistant rubber quality, this Belt is ideal for conveying sharp-edged materials and extremely abrasive products. A highly abrasion-resistant cover is ideal for conveying sharp-edged materials.
The choice of cover depends on the type of transport and operating conditions.
