Frequently asked questions

What do I have to do to change a conveyor's flow rate?

To change the throughput of a conveyor, you can act on 3 different factors:

  • The capacity of the Belt used: you can increase or decrease the flow rate on the Belt in question, as long as this remains measured. In some cases, you can opt for a wider or narrower Belt width.
  • Motor speed: use a frequency converter to select the right speed.
  • Conveyor inclination: the capacity factor changes with conveyor inclination, i.e. the steeper the conveyor, the lower the throughput.

You also need to pay attention to the nature of the materials being conveyed. Some materials cannot tolerate too steep an incline. If you simply wish to regulate the flow of your conveyor, you need to use a Belt Extractor such as our Manuextract, which will keep the flow stable and precise.

You can't treat a site conveyor like a factory conveyor or fixed handling conveyor, nor adopt the same solution for wheat and iron ore, for example.
